Therapy Assistants

Smiling client after therapy breakthrough

At Empowered People & Co, we believe growth happens not only in therapy sessions, but in everyday moments. Our Therapy Assistant service provides hands-on, practical support that helps clients turn therapeutic goals into meaningful, lived experience.

Working closely with our psychologists, therapy assistants reinforce strategies, build confidence, and gently guide clients through real-world challenges, whether at home, in the classroom, or out in the community.

This service is ideal for:

  • NDIS participants seeking extra support with therapy implementation

  • Children, teens, or adults working on emotional regulation, communication, independence, or social skills

  • Families wanting consistent, skills-based help between sessions

  • Individuals who benefit from modelling, repetition, or in-the-moment coaching

  • Clients with complex needs or who find traditional therapy difficult to engage in on its own

Our therapy assistants offer tailored support such as:

  • Practicing emotional regulation tools in daily life

  • Encouraging social connection and relationship-building

  • Supporting positive behaviour through practical application of therapist strategies

  • Guiding daily routines to build independence and executive functioning

  • Facilitating sensory or movement-based activities to calm and regulate the nervous system

  • Assisting with goal-setting and gentle exposure to new or challenging environments

How We Work

Therapy assistants at Empowered People & Co are trained team members who work closely alongside your psychologist to deliver consistent, person-centred care. Each interaction is strengths-based and thoughtfully tailored to your individual needs, preferences, and learning style. Our approach is always empowering and trauma-informed, respectful and adaptive, and grounded in your therapy plan and clinical goals. Ensuring you receive support that feels aligned, practical, and meaningful every step of the way.

This service is available to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
